Politics of Representation

19 September - 10 October 2021
From september to october, we will be presenting recent works in oil, pastel, and gouache by Oliver Enwonwu, a talented artist with a deeply historical perspective. His powerful portraits adapt Old Masters’ modes of representation and techniques of painting, with the aim of addressing the absence of Black personages and revealing strong African influences on European art and history, especially in the Victoria era. The exhibition will be showcased at the Alliance Francaise gallery in Lagos.
