Recent Works: Ada Udechukwu
25 March - 30 May 2021 In March we will be presenting a much anticipated solo exhibition of recent works by LA-based artist, Ada Udechukwu, an award winning writer and artist, whose work is influenced by the linearity, abstraction, and balance of positive and negative space from the ancient Uli art form, traditionally practiced by women in Igbo society. The exhibition will feature her monochromatic ink drawings, watercolors, as well as her poetry. -
Solo Exhibition: Oliver Enwonwu
15 April - 2 May 2021 From April to May, we will be presenting recent works in oil, pastel, and gouache by Oliver Enwonwu, a talented artist with a deeply historical perspective. His powerful portraits adapt Old Masters’ modes of representation and techniques of painting, with the aim of addressing the absence of Black personages and revealing strong African influences on European art and history, especially in the Victoria era. The exhibition will be showcased at the Alliance Francaise gallery in Lagos.
