Adedolapo Ajiboye (b. 1998) popularly known as ‘The Creatus’, is a Lagos born visual artist, designer and DJ. He employs both traditional and digital mediums to create unique imagery portraying African contexts fused with visual elements of pop culture. Utilizing a painterly style, his work showcases a skillful display of vibrant shades and tones.
‘The Creatus’ was formally trained in fine arts and painting at Yaba College of Technology. There he obtained a National Diploma in 2016 and Higher National Diploma in 2019. He honed his digital design skills with BT Group, a New-york based music marketing and advertising studio where he produced campaign designs, music covers, merchandise and promotional materials. His works have been included in several group exhibitions, including Commune Exhibition (2021); AWCA/Alliance Française’s IN CONTEXT GDX (2021) and Terrakulture Gallery’s SMC exhibition (2020).
